  • jigsaw

    Central School of Ballet End of Year Performance 2021

    In 2021, Charlotte earned her master's degree from the Central School of Ballet. As part of her course, she was commissioned to create a piece titled Jigsaw for the third-year students, which was featured in their graduation performance. Developed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Jigsaw began in isolation and gradually progressed toward physical contact, mirroring the evolving circumstances. Charlotte drew on the metaphorical significance of this process, with each "jigsaw piece" coming together to form a cohesive whole.

    Royal Ballet First Artist Joseph Sissens performs an extract from Charlotte Edmonds' jojo - the first dance performance in the Royal Opera House's redesigned Linbury Theatre. jojo premiered at The Grange Festival 2018, curated by Wayne McGregor and Edward Watson, more recently jojo was performed at The Joyce Festival July 2019 which was Charlotte’s US debut.

    Self. draws inspiration from the iconic trio in Kenneth MacMillan’s ballet Manon and brings a fresh perspective to this classic theme. With support from the PRS Foundation, Yorke Dance Project commissioned Charlotte Edmonds and composer Donna McKevitt to create a new work following their participation in the company’s 2015 Cohan Collective.
